Machine of the Week!
An excellent quilter’s cabinet, the Tailormade Gemini offers more than just space-saving design. Its foldout side and back tables open up to support the weight of your quilt as you stipple, while the lifter unit lets you keep your machine recessed in the cabinet for a level sewing surface. Bring the Outback to Your Sewing Room!

Those of you who came to our Super Sunday Kick Off Sale, would have noticed that we are now stocking Glenn Harris’ Outback Embroidery Thread.
This durable rayon thread comes in an excellent range of colours that blend with each other, and is a very affordable $5.95 for 1000m.
Don’t forget that you don’t have to own an embroidery machine to use embroidery thread. Pair it up with Outback Embroidery Bobbin Fill to sew your decorative machine stitches for an even brighter result, or use them when doing satin stitch for an even smoother edge.
We also have a great variety of Outback Embroidery Packs in store which are ideal to start building your thread stash.

With some smart buying we have managed to introduce a new price point to our fabrics. We have lots of new quality fabrics at $16 per metre and the range in increasing every week!

Next Friday from 10am to 2pm we are having a Basting Day. Come in and use our big tables to layout your project. Jenny will giving you a guiding hand to baste it correctly so that you can take it home for quilting. Please note that basting spray can not be used inside the store so pins only thanks!

Applicuts are pre-cut shapes of fabric ready to be appliqued onto your work. We have a pile of Applicults who’ve lost their adhesive so we are selling them out at just..

All you need to do is give them a spray with some 606 Fusible Web Spray, or apply some Vlisofix to get them stuck! Lots of designs to choose from!!
Technically Speaking Answers!

Q How often should I get my machine serviced?
A If you sew 3 days a week, then you should get your machine serviced once every 12 months.
Q How much does a service cost?
A A mechanical machine or overlocker service is $120, an electronic machine is $135 and an embroidery and sewing machine is $160.
Q What accessories do I need to bring when I check in my machine?
A You will need the foot control, the power lead, the normal sewing foot, decorative stitch sewing foot, and buttonhole foot. Embroidery machines will also need the embroidery unit, small hoop, embroidery foot and a bobbin wound with bobbin fill. If you are bringing in an overlocker, include your threads so that it comes back to you threaded.
Q Do I have to book?
A No, just bring it into store – we’ll take care of it from there!.

Machine of the Week…
Everyone is loving the new Bias Maker from Simplicity. This fantastic little machine does all of the hard work to make perfect bias! A variety of optional extra tips vary from neat little 1/4 inch bias through to half fold for binding, and all you have to do is cut the strips and join them. The machine does the rest – no more burnt fingers or metres of bias piled up on the floor around your ironing board!!
As mentioned above the 1/4″ tip is now available and we have a preliminary order being delivered as we speak. If you already own the Bias Maker, then Contact Us if you want one put aside!
