Annual Sewing Retreat 2010

2010 Retreat

“Thanks for a fantastic weekend. I had a ball, and can’t wait for the next retreat.
The way you put the weekends together is such a credit to you, you must put in so much work doing all the preparation, and I am sure I am not alone in saying that we really appreciate it. The projects were great, that ruler has a lot of possibilities. And the bag was fun to do”

2009 Annual Sewing Retreat Group

The numbers were full, the venue ready and the hot sun did not let up!  As soon as we started on Saturday it was obvious that with the group of excited sewers we had raring to go – it was going to be a great weekend!  We love welcoming a vast array of sewing genres – Sewers, Dressmakers, Patchworkers, Quilters & Embroiderers from the beginner to advanced.

Its amazing what happens when you bring together 26 ladies who all share a common interest and allow them no interruptions or petty chores to worry about.  No husbands or children requiring attention, no dirty dishes or messy house to interrupt that creative desire we have to turn fabric into our next masterpiece!!

This years Annual Sewing Retreat saw our ladies have a great weekend yet again!  The ladies were welcomed with their usual bag of goodies, this year containing all they needed to complete the two projects we had lined up.  Saturday afternoon saw us complete our ‘Sweet Treat’ Bag using a ‘Sweetie’ roll from the beautiful Moda ranges of fabric.  A great little bag to use as a gift bag or modified for a nifty little purse.

Sunday morning the ladies experienced a new ruler set not yet seen in store – a bonus we always treat the retreaters with!!  This new ‘Buddy Template’ set is a great new ‘Quilt-as-you-go’ technique that you can also get some fantastic patterns for!  The best part was that there was no UFO to take home, it just needed binding!

The best part of the weekend – which is always the case – is the camaraderie and new friendships that are formed as a result.  The ladies spend a lot of time sharing ideas, techniques, hints & tips – at the end of the weekend they take home a wealth of knowledge.

Thank you ladies for making it a great weekend with lots of laughs!  We love being able to share the time and have the time to do what we love most as well – sew!
